Sunny Rock Harbor
About
Nestled along the picturesque shores of Lake Superior, Sunny Rock Harbor is a place where the air is filled with the sweet promise of fresh beginnings and the summer sun dances on the water.
Devon Dixson, a rock star whose career hit a sour note, leaves behind the gritty streets of Detroit in the hopes a change of scenery will re-ignite his creative spark and banish the persistent cloud of depression that clings to him. But the picturesque landscapes and tranquil atmosphere of the Upper Peninsula prove to be no match for his inner turmoil. He’s still just as lost, just as uninspired, and just as profoundly sad.
Paige Purdy, the spirited co-owner of a quirky souvenir shop, is determined to escape the shadows of her past. However, the small-town gossip mill is relentless, and half the town seems convinced she should reconcile with her ex-boyfriend. Paige is resolute in her desire for a fresh start, a chance to define her own happiness.
A chance meeting on the beach leads to a comical, albeit disastrous, clash of personalities. Devon, brooding and cynical, clashes with Paige’s down-to-earth, upbeat nature. Yet, beneath the initial friction, an undeniable spark ignites. Despite their differences, they find themselves drawn to each other, intrigued by the hidden depths they sense beneath the surface.
Will summer change the course of their lives forever? Dive into the magic of Sunny Rock Harbor and find out!
Praise for this book
This is a very cute, spicy novella. It was such a pleasant read with a HEA ending. Small town girl big city rock star. A perfect combination leading to a perfect read.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story it was a great insight into a musician's struggles with his craft. Its not all sunshine and roses, its a cut throat world and one minute you could be riding a high and the next you're at rock bottom.
Melina Druga’s story of a grumpy, conflicted rock star and an upbeat, if battered, shop owner, is engaging and entertaining. Devon and Paige are a great match despite being so different. I love the way their connection unfolds against the backdrop of stargazing and beach dates, taking full advantage of the beautiful area that’s been so healing for both of them. Sunny Rock Harbor isn’t free of drama, though, because Paige’s ex shows up and the whole town pressures her to reconcile, which she firmly does not want. It’s a necessary conflict that forces both Devon and Paige to confront what they want from their relationship. Is it just a summer fling, or can it last once the weather changes?
Loved this small town romance, the drama was page turning.
