Midlife Melody
About
After years of sacrifice and hard work, Holly Leftwich has achieved a major milestone: she’s a homeowner. And not just anywhere, but in Cincinnati, Ohio, a city she chose specifically for her vibrant daughter, Ainsley, a gifted guitarist who has landed a recording deal.
Once the notorious frontman for a wildly popular metal band, Spencer Everlong was the embodiment of every rock star stereotype imaginable. But those days are history. Haunted by his past and the damage he inflicted, Spencer has worked tirelessly to re-invent himself.
Holly and Spencer’s connection is undeniable, a spark that ignites with every stolen glance and whispered conversation. But their budding romance is threatened by the ghosts of Spencer’s past. Old habits die hard, and some people are not willing to let him forget. As Spencer tries to navigate his new relationship with Holly, he finds himself battling not only his own demons, but also the lingering consequences of his former life.
Will their love be strong enough to overcome the obstacles in their path and create a midlife melody that resonates with hope, healing, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow?
A story about second chances, finding love when you least expect it, and the healing power of music. Sometimes, the greatest love stories are the ones that are forged in the fires of adversity, the ones that rise from the ashes of the past, and the ones that remind us that it’s never too late to find your happily ever after

Praise for this book
Midlife Melody by Melina Druga instantly caught my eye thanks to its title and the striking cover art. The title made me curious. I wondered what kind of music plays out in the second act of someone’s life? I thought the bold cover promised a story with edge and heart. Once I started reading, I was hooked. I quickly became caught up in the lives of Holly and Spencer, who, like me, are both middle-aged, somewhat set in their ways, and carry their fair share of baggage. The realities of dating later in life and dealing with old mistakes felt believable and relatable. The book didn’t gloss over these struggles and still came across as hopeful while painting the picture of a real connection. The alternating points of view brought both main characters vividly to life. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a romance with mature themes, believable messiness, and a touch of rock-and-roll.
